And Get the Lead out, Rupie!!!!!!!

Sarah I love you so much.

This weekend at some Ronald Reagan Dinner in Iowa (they just can’t get over him), my heart-throb Sarah let it be known in no uncertain terms that she values the freedom of the press.  In her talk she defended it as a sacred right and then condemned professional journalists, whose qualifications she questioned as a rule, for using “anonymous sources”.  Perhaps she had just discovered this used in an article.  Anyway, soon after “honoring” the press she started shouting orders to the political elite as to what to do to win in November.  She included “Krautheimer, Hannity, Rush” etc. in the group orders. So there’s your press, there’s your freedom; follow your orders and you will all be free.  And Rupert!!! LOOK ALIVE!!!!!!  Praise God.

This from the Huffington Post by Amanda Terkel:

In a speech at the Iowa Republican Party’s Reagan Dinner fundraiser on Friday, former Alaska governor Sarah Palin called on the GOP to come together and support the party’s nominees in November.

Hinting at the fractious primary battles in states like Delaware and Alaska, Palin said, “If the goal is to take away the gavel from Pelosi and Harry Reid and to stop the Obama agenda and make government respect the will of the people, then it is time to unite.”

Palin noted that she’s technically not part of the Republican Party “hierarchy” and therefore doesn’t get to decide how to allocate party resources, but she nevertheless opined on what should be done in the next 46 days. She said that not only should lawmakers like Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) be out campaigning, so should President Bush and various conservative media personalities:

PALIN: But anyway, if I were in that loop though — if I were in the hierarchy of leadership in the GOP — to rally the troops, you know what I’d say? I’d say, “Okay, folks. We’ve got 46 days to go.” I’d say, “DeMint, you’re awesome, we need you down south. Mitt, go west. G.W., we need you to raise funds! Kristol, Krauthammer, you’ve got to go east. Alveda, Rush, go deep — go anywhere, everywhere, people are listening. Hannity, Levin, Beck, Michelle, Laura, Tammy — all y’all! We need everybody working together! Prager, (inaudible).” I’m going to get in trouble for missing some names, so I’m going to stop. And Karl, here! You can come to Iowa! And Karl Rove and the other leaders who will see the light and realize that these are the normal, hardworking, patriotic Americans who are saying no, enough is enough. We want to turn this around and we want to get back to those time-tested truths that are right for America.

Her mention of former Bush adviser Karl Rove was most likely a reference to the fact that he went on Fox News and questioned Christine O’Donnell’s “serious character problems” on the night she beat Rep. Mike Castle (R-Del.) for the GOP Senate nod in Delaware. “This is not a race we’re going to be able to win,” he predicted. (A day later, after considerable blowback, he endorsed her.)

Palin’s call for Fox News personalities Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck is interesting, since on Wednesday, she went on Bill O’Reilly’s Fox show and counseled O’Donnell to use the network to campaign. “She’s going to have to dismiss that, go with her gut, get out there, speak to the American people,” said Palin, who is a Fox News contributor. “Speak through Fox News and let the Independents who are tuning in to you, let them know what it is that she stands for, the principles behind her positions.”

Hannity has also endorsed several GOP candidates and found himself in hot water in April when he was headlining at an event benefiting a Tea Party organization.

At the event, Palin also went after one of her favorite targets — the “lamestream media.” She said that by “claiming the right to print and say anything,” the media was disrespecting U.S. troops, who are “willing to fight and die for our constitutional rights, including that right to free press.”
